In his speech, Major General Kieu Dang Hung, Commander of Corps 18, summarized the unit’s establishment, development, and achievements over the past 35 years. The corporation has built itself as the leading provider of professional helicopter services for oil and gas businesses in Vietnam and Southeast Asia, offering various domestic flight services and logistics, as well as international flight services.

Alongside its effective business operations, the unit consistently fulfills its national defense and security task. It integrates commercial flight operations with reconnaissance missions, affirming and protecting the sovereignty over the national sea and islands.

With these accomplishments, Corps 18 and its affiliated units have been honored with numerous prestigious awards from the Party, the State, and the Ministry of National Defense. Notably, the corps was awarded the "Hero of Labor" title during the renovation period.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam commended the achievements of Corps 18 over the past 35 years. The Deputy Defense Minister urged the corps to continue effectively implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress on combining the socio-economic development with the reinforcement of the national defense and security. He also emphasized the implementation of the Central Military Commission’s Resolution 425 on “Reorganizing, renovating, and improving the efficiency of military-run enterprises until 2020 and beyond.”

The Deputy Defense Minister stressed the need to build a stronger unit, ensure adequate forces and equipment, and maintain readiness for military flight missions as required by the Ministry of National Defense, especially in complex and challenging conditions. He also highlighted the importance of continuously improving the material and spiritual well-being of officers, employees, and workers.

On this occasion, authorized by the State President, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam awarded the second-class Fatherland Protection Order to Corps 18 and the third-class Fatherland Protection Order to Major General Kieu Dang Hung, Commander of Corps 18.
