PANO - Commanders and political commissars of border posts and companies in the whole army are participating in a contest at the Mieu Mon Training Centre between November 18th and 20th.
The contest aims to precisely assess the ability and proficiency of commanders and political commissars as a foundation to further foster the development of officers’ qualifications in the following years.

At the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), underlined that this was a vital event for the army this year, and pointed out the contest’s targets and requirements and assigned detailed tasks to the organization panel, the jury and the participants.
After that, General Do Ba Ty, Chief of the VPA’s General Staff, checked preparations for the competition and encouraged the competitors to have good results.
During the three-day event, competitors will compete in two categories, namely building combat plans and shooting practice.
