PANO – Parachuting ability of troops from Special Task Commando units 1 and 113 and the Commando Officers School, under the Commando Corps, was checked at the Hoa Lac Airport on June 15th.
Directly checking soldiers' practices, Major-General Trinh Xuan Chuyen, Political Commissar of the Commando Service, said that the Defence Ministry assigned the Corps to train parachuting skills for commandoes in order to be ready for tasks of anti-terrorism and search and rescue in the new context.
For a short time, parachuting skills and ability of trainees for combat readiness met requirements.
According to Colonel Nguyen Thanh Cai, Deputy Commander of the Commando Corps, with the new combat operational tactics, commandoes can maneuver to designated places faster and can quickly deploy tasks when incidents, including military contingents, occur.
In the coming time, the Commando Command is planning to provide more parachuting training courses for commandoes on verious terrains and weather conditions in accordance with real tasks.
