After nearly two months of construction, the project, funded by Medistar Vietnam Company and supplemented by the unit’s agricultural production revenue, was completed on an area of 200 sq.m. at a total cost of nearly VND 500 million.
The structure blends traditional values with modern elements, creating a unified cultural landmark. The centerpiece of the project is a circular bas-relief with a diameter of 6 meters, symbolizing a ship's steering wheel navigating through the waves. At the heart of the bas-relief is an image of President Ho Chi Minh wearing a naval soldier’s cap. The reverse side, facing the sea, showcases a mural created by the unit’s officers and soldiers to motivate naval troops in their mission. Flanking the monument, a three-tiered staircase ascends to two coral stone slabs, representing Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty and the commitment of naval generations to defend the nation's waters.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Captain Pham Van Son, Commanding Officer of Brigade 162, expressed his deep thank to Medistar Vietnam Company for its financial support in constructing this meaningful structure. He emphasized that the "Uncle Ho with naval troops" bas-relief stands as a sacred symbol at Cam Ranh Military Port, serving as a cultural and educational site where generations of officers and soldiers can nurture their love for the country, the national sea and islands, and strong bond with their ships and units.
On this occasion, the Naval Region 4 Command presented certificates of merit to Medistar Vietnam Company and Mr. Doan Trung Duc, recognizing their contributions to the development of Naval Region 4.
