PANO – A seminar to honour and reward border guard soldiers for their oustanding achievements in fighting drug-trafficking was jointly held by the High Command of Border Guard and People’s Army Newspaper on June 25.

The seminar is one of the activities to mark the National Day on Drug Prevention (June 26).

Present at the event were senior lieutenant-general Phan Trung Kien, member of the Party’s Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defence, directors of the Lao Hua Phan and Phong Sa Ly Police, leaders of the Border Guard High Command and People’s Army Newspaper, as well as representatives of provincial Border Guard Headquarters of Lao Cai, Quang Ninh, Dien Bien, Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri...

At the seminar, Gen. Phan Trung Kien, on behalf of the Prime Minister, presented awards to the drug prevention forces under Border Guard Headquarters of Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Quang Ninh, Lang Son and the Laos’ Phong Sa Ly Police for their recent achievements.

The delegates also took part in a discussion to exchange experience in the task of fighting and preventing drug smuggling.
