PANO - As many as 15 best articles of the seventh “Simple but noble examples” writing contest will be awarded on June 11th at the Hanoi Opera House. The event will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television Channel 2 (VTV2).

The news was revealed by the organizers of the contest at their meeting with the press on June 7th in Hanoi.

According to Major General Pham Van Huan, Editor-in-Chief of the People’s Army Newspaper, one of the organizers, since last year, the organizing panel has received hundreds of articles nationwide. The writings depict good individuals of all walks of life, who quietly devote their minds and strengths to communities and the country as a whole. Their good deeds are really good examples in society.

Among the entries, the organizers selected nearly 120 writings and introduced them to nationwide readers in the People’s Army Newspaper and its online edition.

The juries, including many prestigious journalists, have decided to award 15 outstanding articles.

Noteworthy, a number of writings of the contest will be included in the 12th “Simple but noble examples” volume of the bookshelf “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example”, which will be released by the People’s Army Publisher.

The contest has jointly been organized for 7 years by the People’s Army Newspaper, the Press and Publication Department under the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education, the People’s Army Publisher and PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) under the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam).

Also at the awarding ceremony, the People’s Army Newspaper and PTSC will hold an artistic exchanged themed “Consistently following Uncle Ho’s path”.

The program will feature reports on and exchanges with outstanding good deeds doers in the “Simple but noble examples” movement as well as talks with the winners.

The eighth writing contest will also be launched at the awarding ceremony.
