Speaking at the event, General Nguyen Tan Cuong acknowledged and praised the outstanding achievements of the schools over the past eight decades. Looking ahead, to meet the requirements of future missions, the defense leader urged the school’s Party Committee, Board of Administrators, staff, instructors, cadets, employees, and soldiers to continue thoroughly understanding and steadfastly implementing the Party’s guidelines, State’s policies and laws, and directives of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense on military and defense mission, military building, and Fatherland protection in the new period.
He emphasized the need to build the school into a leading center for training command and staff officers and a prestigious, high-quality hub for military science and arts research and development.
General Cuong also stressed the importance of effectively implementing President Ho Chi Minh’s thought of "people before weapons," placing people at the center, as both the subject and the driving force of the education and training. The school must focus on building its contingent of competent cadres and staff.
