Gen. Giang inspecting training of an antiaircraft artillery battery under Brigade 71

Gen. Giang, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, Chief-of-the-General Staff and Deputy-Defense Minister, tasked the corps during an inspection visit to the unit on January 5.

At the meeting, Major General Pham Xuan Thuyet, the corps’ commander briefed the inspection delegation on the corps’ task performance, highlighting upgraded training grounds, investment in teaching aids, adjusted lesson plans, successful live-fire exercises with absolute safety, regularity building and discipline observance as well as outstanding achievements in Party development, Party and political work, weapons and equipment maintenance and maintaining high rate of healthy troops.

Having listened to the suggestions and proposals from the corps’ affiliated units and answers by related agencies under the Ministry of Nation Defense, Gen. Giang urged the corps to increase cooperation with Military Region 7 to improve the mass mobilization work and build a safe and strong locality.

Earlier in the day, the delegation checked training and combat readiness at Brigade 71, during which Gen. Giang pointed out some of the unit’s potential shortcomings and asked it to fix them soon to meet combat readiness requirements in any and all circumstances.

On the occasion, the delegation offered incense to President Ho Chi Minh and fallen soldiers at Army Corps 4’s Memorial House and extended Tet greetings and presented gifts to cadres and troops of Brigade 71 and Army Corps 4.
