The request was made by Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, and Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, during a meeting with Army Corps 4 to review its implementation of Party and political work in the first half of this year, on July 12.

The GDP’s leader added that units under the corps should well conduct activities to mark the 70th Day for Wounded and Fallen Soldiers, effectively carry out policies for soldiers’ families, and pay attention to raising material and spiritual lives of soldiers, particularly needy ones. They also should attach special attention to promoting efficiency of emulation movements and focus on building strong and pure Party organizations and comprehensively strong units.

During the meeting, General Cuong also acknowledged the corps’ remarkable achievements in Party and political work over the past time. Particularly, the whole corps has taken effective measures in implementing their assigned missions and closely cooperated with local forces to ensure public order in the localities where they are stationed. 

Before the meeting, General Cuong offered incense in commemoration of fallen soldiers at the corps’ memorial stele.
