ADAF Service completes command and staff exercise for Northern units
PANO - The Air Defense - Air Force (ADAF) Service has successfully held a one-side, two-level command and staff exercise with field training contents for its affiliated units stationed in the North in 2024.
During the three-day drill, starting November 15, the Service’s Commanding General Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Hien, its Political Commissar Lt. Gen. Tran Ngoc Quyen, and Second-in-Command Maj. Gen. Vu Hong Son attended and directed the event.

The exercise was themed “ADAF forces coordinate to make preparations and execute combat to safeguard the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam in the Northern direction.” In this event, units shifted combat readiness status to a higher level, prepared for and executed combat operations, and restored combat capabilities. They also practiced counter-attacking the enemy’s air attack to defend the air and waters in the North, maneuvering forces and weapons to battlefields and dealing with air defense situations.

Attentively, in this year's event, alongside building a system of close-to-combat-reality strong fortifications and battlefields, participating units built a solid logistics - technical supply cluster to serve their task performances. In addition, many new contents were added to meet modern warfare requirements while secret maneuverability of forces was ensured.

At the end of the exercise, the organizer highlighted the prompt and timely shifting of combat readiness posture, good conditions of weapons and equipment, good performance of reconnaissance and detection skills, and good handling of situations, as well as innovation in electronic warfare training. They suggested each officer and soldier of the service be aware of and better use of vehicles, weapons, equipment and communications to minimize enemy electronic reconnaissance and target detection.
