A total of 17 rescue teams from military regions, corps, and services participated in the sports festival. The teams competed in three categories, which were a special obstacle course, relay, and victory.
In his speech, Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh emphasized that the 2023 Whole-army Rescue Competition provided an opportunity to improve the capacity, qualifications, skills, methods, and training quality for combat readiness and rescue missions. Additionally, it gave participants an opportunity to exchange and learn from each other's experiences. It helped assess the capacity of Party committees and commanders at all levels in organizing training activities, and the roles and responsibilities of officers and soldiers in responding to incidents, natural disasters, and search and rescue missions. The event also served as a platform for selecting excellent athletes to form a team to participate in the International Army Games 2024.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh requested that the organizers and judges uphold their responsibility in organizing and running the competition. He emphasized that they should work democratically, objectively, and fairly and accurately assess the results of teams and athletes.
