VPA shooters gain first medals at AARM-32
PANO - Within the framework of the 32nd ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM-32) in the Philippines, the rifle team of the Vietnam People's Army contingent won their first medals on November 15.
At the training ground of the Philippines Marksmanship Training Center, Vietnamese shooters overcame difficulties, including hot weather conditions and strong winds- factors that significantly impact long-range rifle shooting. After the first day of the competition, Vietnam's rifle team won a silver and five bronze medals.

The awarding ceremony for shooters and teams with excellent results was held on the same day.
According to Major Trinh Duc Phat, Coach of the rifle team of the VPA contingent, entering the competition, the team determined that both the coach and shooters should study and identify suitable shooting elements; map out appropriate plans and tactics; and arrange personnel and organize competitions in each round according to specific times to maximize shooters’ expertise and skills.
The AARM-32 saw the participation of 10 contingents of excellent shooters from armies of the ten ASEAN member countries. The VPA contingent with 25 shooters will compete in five categories, namely men’s pistol, women’s pistol, rifle, carbine, and machine gun.
