Gen. Chien expressed his delight at the strong development of the two countries’ relations, affirming that the Vietnam always attach much importance to boosting the friendship and practical cooperation with UAE, in line with the legitimate interests of the people of the two countries, and for peace, stability, cooperation and development. The Vietnamese defense leader highly praised recent active developments in the bilateral defense cooperation.

During the meeting, both generals emphasized the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the UAE, highlighting that defense cooperation should be further developed to strengthen mutual trust and create momentum for collaboration in diplomacy, economy, and culture.
The two sides agreed to prioritize strengthening defense cooperation through the signing and effective implementation of cooperation documents, focusing on high-level delegation exchanges, training, U.N. peacekeeping operations, defense industry, and more.

Gen. Chien cordially invited the UAE Ministry of Defense to Vietnam and Gen. Al-Alawi accepted with please. He also invited the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense to the Dubai Airshow 2025 and the Dubai International Air Chiefs’ Conference 2025 (DIACC 2025) slated for November this year. At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed a Letter of Intent on defense cooperation.
During his reception for Bader Ahmed Mohammed Majed Al Ali, Chairman of ABI Group, one of the UAE’s leading multi-sector and multi-field conglomerates, Gen. Chien highly valued the cooperation outcomes between Vietnam’s Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) and ABI Group.

On this occasion, in the presence of Gen. Chien, Viettel and ABI Group signed a minutes of their meeting, clearly demonstrating their goodwill and desire to further strengthen their partnership.
As part of his working visit to the UAE, Gen. Chien visited EDGE Group, a leading defense conglomerate. During the visit, Gen. Chien suggested EDGE Group and relevant Vietnamese agencies and units actively enhance cooperation and facilitate technology transfer and application, underlining that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense would create favorable conditions for both sides to exchange experience.
