Essential supplies provided for Lao border protection unit isolated by flooding
PANO - On July 27, Lang Thanh Luong, Secretary of the Na Loi commune Party Committee (Nghe An province), reported that local authorities, border stations, and the commune’s police force provided essential supplies for a Lao border protection unit isolated due to flooding.

During the recent flood, the border area of Pienghong village (Boyia cluster, Nonghaet district, Xiengkhoang province, Laos) suffered severe damage. According to representatives of the Lao border protection unit, the flood swept away 45 houses in Pienghong, completely destroyed the barracks of the Piengmeuang Border Station, and isolated Border Company 223.
The commanding officer of Border Company 223 sent two officers to request assistance from Na Loi commune and local forces. The Na Loi commune People’s Committee, Na Loi Border Station and Na Loi commune’s police force provided essential supplies for officers and soldiers of the Lao unit.

Over the past days, flooding has also isolated the Huaypa Border working team of Border Company 217 under the Houaphanh provincial Military Command. Learning about the situation, the Nhot Lot border working team of My Ly Border Station under the Border Guard Command of the Nghe An provincial Military Command promptly offered essential supplies to support their Lao counterparts.
