On behalf of the Vietnamese MND, Gen. Minh sent congratulations to all cadres and staff of the Embassy on the great day of the Lao people.

He emphasized that the birth of the LPRP 70 years ago opened a glorious page in the history of Laos, marking a great turning point in the struggle for national salvation, construction and defense of the Lao people. Under the LPRP’s steadfast and wise leadership, Laos has achieved glorious victories in the resistance war against colonialists and imperialists, protecting independence and territorial integrity, and gaining great achievements in the cause of national building and development.

Gen. Minh affirmed that the special solidarity between the two parties, states and people of Vietnam and Laos is an invaluable asset, the law of existence and development of the two countries. The Vietnamese MND always attaches importance to its ties with the Lao counterpart, considering it one of the important pillars in the two countries’ relations. He added that over the past years, the two sides have effectively and practically implemented many defense cooperation contents.

For her part, Deputy Ambassador of Laos to Vietnam Latana Sihalaj thanked the Vietnamese delegation for coming to celebrate with the Embassy on this important anniversary. She underlined that the Party, State, Government, military and people of Laos are always grateful to their Vietnamese counterparts for standing shoulder-to-shoulder in the past struggle for the nation’s independence and reunification and in the current national construction, defense and development cause.

The diplomat stated that the achievements that Laos has achieved are all thanks to the great support and assistance of Vietnam. She affirmed that the Laos-Vietnam relationship is special, exemplary and rare in the world. She also highly praised the two defense ministries’ close cooperation over the past time, significantly contributing to fostering the Laos-Vietnam relations.
