In the spirit of friendship, the two sides reviewed outcomes in joint border management and protection since December 2024, and reached common perception on the future coordination in the field.

Accordingly, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strictly adhering to the “16-character motto” and the “Four-good spirit,” continuing the close bilateral friendship, and promoting the stable development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
They agreed to strengthen coordination in border management and protection, safeguarding the shared border and border markers, and continue to strictly implement the three legal documents on the Vietnam - China land border, the border cooperation agreement signed by the two defense ministries on October 24, 2024, as well as the common understandings reached during previous talks at various levels. These efforts have contributed to maintaining stability, security, and social order in border areas, creating favorable conditions for socio-economic, cultural development and improving living standards of border residents.
Other agreements included effectively implementation of existing information exchange mechanisms through hotlines, regular and ad hoc meetings; direction for their affiliates to continue organizing joint border patrols in accordance with the plan defined in the minutes of the 13th talks signed on April 23, 2018, in Mile city, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture (China).
In addition, they will strengthen coordination in combating cross-border crimes and violations such as illegal entry and exit, unlawful residence, illegal labor, smuggling, drug trafficking, arms trafficking, and human trafficking.

They also agreed to enhance legal education for border communities, organize exchange activities during traditional holidays and celebrations of both countries and of the two border guard forces, and facilitate the implementation of twinning programs between residential clusters along the border as proposed by local authorities. These efforts aim to further strengthen solidarity and friendship, contributing to building a shared Vietnam - China border of peace, friendship, stability, and development .
