State President’s decision handed over to officer undertaking peacekeeping duties
PANO - Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Truong Thang chaired a ceremony on February 26 to hand over the decision of the State President to the officer who will undertake peacekeeping duties in the Central African Republic.
In particular, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoang Long, an instructor teaching foreign languages at the Faculty of Reconnaissance of the National Defense Academy, was sent to replace Senior Captain Nguyen Anh Tuan as a staff officer at the Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

Lieutenant Colonel Long has completed all required training courses at the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations, as well as several training programs abroad.
Speaking at the ceremony, Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang required Lieutenant Colonel Long to maintain his health and ensure absolute safety throughout his term, especially as the security situation in MINUSCA has recently experienced complex and unpredictable developments. He was also required to strictly comply with the Party’s guidelines and policies, State laws, military discipline, as well as U.N. regulations, the mission’s rules, and laws of the host country.

Sr. Lt. Gen. Thang expressed his belief that with thorough preparations, Lieutenant Colonel Long will grasp the duty quickly and successfully accomplish all assigned tasks.
