Vietnamese frigate leaves for international multilateral activities in Singapore and Philippines
PANO - On April 28, frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao under Brigade 162 of Naval Region 4, with a delegation of the Vietnam People’s Navy onboard, led by Deputy Chief of the Staff of Naval Region 4 Senior Captain Nguyen Van Ngan, left the Cam Ranh port in Khanh Hoa province to join international multilateral activities in Singapore and the Philippines from April 28 to May 18.

In Singapore, Ship 015 will participate in the ASEAN - India maritime exercise (AIME) and international maritime defense exhibition and conference (IMDEX) in 2023. It will also be present at the ASEAN fleet review (AFR) and 2nd ASEAN multilateral naval exercise (AMNEX) 2023 in the Philippines.
The journey aims to realize directives of the Central Military Commission and Defense Ministry leaders on international integration and external defense relations, contributing to enhancing and boosting the sound cooperation relationship between the Vietnam’s military and navy and other militaries and navies, for peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

This is an occasion to promote coordination between Vietnam’s navy and other navies in response to common challenges in maritime security.
It also helps the Vietnam’s naval force raise its competence and combat readiness ability, master weapons at sea while practicing grasping situations at sea.
As scheduled, Ship 015 and the delegation will take part in activities at the port of Singapore including a workshop on humanitarian assistance and disaster reduction (HADR) and subject matter expert exchange (SMEE). They will also join exercises at sea during their journey from Singapore to the Philippines.

Meanwhile, in the Philippines, Ship 015 and the delegation will join a fleet review among ASEAN countries, sports and cultural exchange activities, exercises at sea in the framework of AMNEX-2, to name but a few.
