Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Nguyen Hong Hai, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnamese PAN, emphasized that during the one-month course, the Lao trainees received thorough training in journalism practices, helping enhancing their future task performance.

He affirmed that the success of the course helped deepen the solidarity and close ties between the two militaries in general, and the two newspapers in particular.

On behalf of the Lao delegation, Lieutenant Colonel Aphai Aphaiyavong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Lao PAN, expressed sincere gratitude to Vietnam’s PAN, and other relevant units and agencies for providing favorable conditions for them.

“During the training course, we received a warm and respectful reception from the host which reflected the brotherly and unbreakable bond between us,” affirmed Lt. Col. Aphai Aphaiyavong, adding that the Lao trainees had the opportunity to learn from highly experienced instructors who shared their expertise in such areas as journalistic practice, website development and management, production of clips, audio and podcasts, as well as strategies for communications and enhancement of prestige and brand of the military press in the digital era.

He also recalled chances to visit military units and explore cultural and historical landmarks, famous spiritual sites. These activities helped them gain a deeper understanding of the history, culture and customs, the friendliness and hospitality of the Vietnamese people.

The head of the Lao delegation affirmed that valuable experience and lessons from the refresher course will be put into practice in their future work, contributing to stronger development of the Lao People’s Army Newspaper.
