Senior Captain Trinh Xuan Tung, Second-in-Command and Chief Staff of Naval Region 5 and commanding officer of Ship 263 in this joint patrol, said that this 72nd edition took place in a bad weather condition with rough sea and strong wind. However, thanks to good preparation, close coordination, and high resolve, the two naval contingents completed all planned contents of the joint patrol, ensuring absolute safety.
Such a joint patrol aims to uphold security and order in the historical waters of Vietnam and Cambodia, creating conditions for the two countries’ people to develop sea economy, and helping consolidate and develop the cooperative ties, and boost mutual understanding, trust, and support between the two navies.

After the 72nd joint patrol session, Ship 263 of the Vietnam People’s Navy docked at Sihanoukville port in the Cambodian province of Preah Sihanouk to start its visit and exchange with the Royal Cambodian Navy from September 26 to 29.
