The event was co-chaired by Commanding Officer of the Dak Nong provincial Border Guard Command Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Lu and Head of the Gendarmerie Command of Mondulkiri province Hem Bonarel.

Both sides sign a memorandum of understanding.

During the talks, the two sides highly appreciated the outcomes of their coordination in managing and protecting the shared borderline, maintaining security in border areas in Dak Nong and Mondulkiri provinces, and building a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.

To raise the effectiveness of their coordination work in the coming time, the two sides agreed to effectively carry out their memorandum of understanding reached at the talks in 2022 and the cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the Cambodian Gendarmerie Command.

They also consented to regularly exchange information, closely work together to maintain political security and public order and prevent cross-border crime, and actualize a protocol on search and rescue in land border areas between the Vietnamese and Cambodian Ministries of National Defense. 

In addition, the two units agreed to facilitate the demarcation and marker planting and cooperate with each other to protect security at important political events of the two countries.

The Dak Nong provincial Border Guard Command and the Gendarmerie Command of Mondulkiri province will also work together to deal with issues occurring in border areas in a timely and effective manner in line with treaties and agreements inked by the two governments. 

In addition, the two units will direct their affiliates to coordinate with functional agencies and authorities of localities along the shared borderline to organize cultural and sports exchanges to mark the “Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Year 2022.”

After the talks, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding.
