Vietnamese Cambodian militaries to expand legal cooperation
PANO – Vietnam always treasures and wants to develop its relationship with the Cambodian Government, people and military, said Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Minister of National Defense, at a reception on December 6 for General Mam Sophat, Director of the Bureau of Legal Affairs under the Cambodian Ministry of Defense, who is on his working visit to Vietnam.
General Chiem added that Vietnam and Cambodia set up their relationship a long time ago and have enjoyed fine developments in economic, political, cultural, technological, defense and security cooperation in line with the spirit of “Good neighbors, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability” reached by leaders of the two countries.

Regarding defense cooperation, the Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister evaluated that the two sides have comprehensively and effectively carried out cooperation on the basis of the cooperation plan 2018 inked by the two defense ministries.
For his part, General Sophat informed the host of the outcomes of the meeting with the Bureau of Legal Affairs of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense. During the meeting, the two sides shared information about the Law of National Defense and judicial system of each country as well as made proposals for cooperation in the coming time.
Speaking highly of the outcomes of the meeting, General Chiem said that, in the time to come, the two agencies should promote cooperation to contribute to consolidating friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two militaries.
He affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense always supports and creates the most favorable conditions for the two agencies to expand cooperation, thus promoting security-defense ties.
