The event was hosted by Vietnam’s Engineering Company Rotation 2 at the Highway Base. The children enjoyed various artistic performances by members of Vietnam's Engineering Company Rotation 2. The Vietnamese "blue berets" introduced the meaning of the Mid-Autumn Festival in Eastern culture, especially in Vietnam. They also presented the legend of Hang Nga (Moon Lady), the banyan tree, and Cuoi (a well-known character of the Vietnamese Mid-Autumn Festival) through animated video clips in English.
The children were guided in playing Vietnamese folk games and tasted traditional Mid-Autumn Festival refreshments.

According to Major Nguyen Mau Vu, Political Commissar of Vietnam's Engineering Company Rotation 2, through this event, the Vietnamese peacekeepers aimed to share and convey warm sentiments to African children. The Vietnamese "blue berets" have become part of the Abyei community and are always eager to assist this land as much as possible. "We hope this is an opportunity for the children of Abyei to feel the care and connection of the surrounding community," said Maj. Vu.
On this occasion, ten outstanding students from the past academic year were presented with meaningful gifts by the Vietnamese "blue berets." Additionally, five classrooms at Abyei Cathedral School received bookshelves, toys, and school supplies. Over 200 traditional Mid-Autumn Festival toys, such as star lanterns and pinwheels, were creatively made by members of the Youth Union and the Women's Union Organizations of Vietnam's Engineering Company Rotation 2 from recycled plastic bottles and scrap paper.

At the event, Ms. Catherine, Principal of Abyei Cathedral School, said, "The children were very happy and joyful to participate in today's event. Although you come from a distant country with a different culture, you have made the children feel love without boundaries. Thank you, brothers and sisters of the Engineering Company! Thank you, Vietnam!"
