An overview of the talks

During the talks, based on the spirit of solidarity, special friendship and mutual understanding and respect, both sides evaluated the result of coordination work over the past time and discussed orientations in the time to come.

In particular, the coordination work has been implemented in a strict and effective manner. The two sides have well teamed up with each other to ensure the success of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2024) in Dien Bien province and other major events of the two countries and provinces as well.

They have regularly exchanged information, local situations and issues related to the maintenance of security, political, social order and safety in the managed areas, and jointly implemented border legal documents signed by the two Governments.

The two sides agreed to continue to enhance coordination in strengthening the fight against the establishment of a “H’mong State” to sabotage the two countries’ Parties and States; drug, weapons and explosives trafficking and transportation, terrorist crimes, high-tech crimes, illegal entry and exit, and other violations of laws related to security and order on both sides of the shared borderline and at border gates.

Also, they will promote collaboration in resolving issues related to the reception and return of citizens; illegal entry and exit and violations of the laws of the host country in accordance with the agreements and treaties signed by the two countries; contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.
