PANO - Five hundred athletes and instructors from 28 agencies and units under the Military Region 9 Command have competed in a rifle meet recently held at Division 330. 

Of the participating athletes, 62 were female officers and militiawomen who obtained encouraging achievements in two categories, namely K54 lessons 1 and 2 for officers and AK lessons 1 and 2 for militiawomen. 

Despite unfavorable weather conditions, participants demonstrated their high sense of responsibility and determination, overcame all difficulties to complete all contents while ensuring absolute safety. They strictly observed regulations of the organizing panel and units and military discipline.  

With outstanding performances, regular troops from Can Tho city’s Military Command won gold medals. Those from the Hau Giang provincial Military Command and Military Region 9’s Staff Department won silver and bronze medals, respectively.

In the militiawomen’s category, the Dong Thap provincial Military Command’s team snatched gold medals. Silver and bronze medals respectively went to the teams of the Can Tho municipal Military Command and the Ben Tre provincial Military Command.

Based on the competition’s results, Military Region 9 will form a team for advanced training to compete in the whole-military event in September.
