In 2015, in Beijing, China, the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the Chinese Border Administration (now Chinese National Immigration Administration), signed the minutes of talks on enhancing political exchanges between the two sides.

Accordingly, at the Command level, both sides organized such exchange on this field in 2026 and 2019. Especially, during a meeting on strengthening political exchange on November 12, 2019 in Hanoi, the two sides inked the minutes of the meeting on “Strengthening political exchange between the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the Chinese National Immigration Administration.”

At the meeting, Political Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Major General Tran Van Bung reported on the preparation work for the upcoming exchange.

Concluding the working session, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Anh Tuan affirmed the importance of the exchange, which contributes to deepening the cooperation between the two sides, while realizing the Party and State’s foreign policies, as well as resolutions, directives, and plans of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on international integration and defense diplomacy in 2024 and the following years.

He also requested relevant units to work closely together and promote high determination to fulfill all assigned tasks.
