Under the rotational mechanism for organizing joint patrol activities, this patrol was chaired by the Chinese side. The two sides established a Joint Patrol Command, with each side forming three ground patrol teams and assigning two liaison groups comprising four personnel (two officers from each side) to conduct the joint patrol along the border section from markers 29 to marker 71.
At 8:00 a.m. (Hanoi time), the joint patrol commanders of both sides met at the demarcation line at the Vietnam - China Border Friendship Bridge at the Ma Lu Thang – Jinshuihe Border Gate, where they reached agreement on the joint patrol activities and exchanged information about recent border management situations.

The joint patrol was carried out using a combination of motorized patrols and foot patrols, with a total duration of seven hours. During the patrol, the two sides mobilized three working groups involving 48 turns of officers and soldiers; used six vehicle deployments; held 12 on-site consultations; distributed 300 leaflets to disseminate information and provide education for 300 border residents; and patrolled a total distance of 150km.
Following the patrol, the Joint Patrol Command of both sides conducted a review and assessment of the results and exchanged updates on the recent border situation. Both sides agreed that the joint patrol achieved good results, fulfilled its objectives, and met the intended effectiveness. They also agreed on fields of cooperation in the time ahead, including continuing to consolidate the mechanism for joint patrol coordination in the area; jointly and resolutely combating cross-border legal violations; promoting a rapid hand-over mechanism to create a safe and convenient border environment for customs clearance at border gates; and expanding friendly exchanges and cooperation.

Both sides will continue to maintain information exchange on border affairs through correspondence and hotlines, promptly handle border-related incidents, and strengthen patrols and controls to combat illegal entry and exit, human trafficking, smuggling, and other unlawful activities, thereby ensuring security and order in border areas of the two countries.
They will also enhance dissemination of border-related laws and policies, raise awareness of law compliance and border protection among residents on both sides, contributing to reducing legal violations in border areas.
