Gen. Tan expresses thanks to the UAE official for his visit to Vietnam and attendance in the Expo and to the UAE for supporting the country in organizing this event.
He spoke highly of the practical outcomes in the two countries’ cooperative ties in various area such as politics, economy, trade and investment. He said that the two countries' comprehensive partnership, which was upgraded during PM Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to the UAE in October this year, has motivated the cooperative ties to develop in different fields, including defense cooperation.
He also mentioned meetings, contacts, exchanges between defense industry enterprises of the two sides over the past time to promote cooperation opportunities, including the participation of IAG UAE in the first Vietnam Defense Expo in 2022, and the cooperation discussion between EDGE Group and the Vietnamese General Department of Defense Industry. Attentively, in the second edition of the Expo, two UAE’s defense industry businesses are showcasing their modern products, contributing to the success of the Expo.

To further the multifaceted cooperative ties to be commensurate with the comprehensive partnership of the two countries, particularly in defense cooperation, Gen. Tan suggested maintaining delegation exchanges at all levels, support and sending delegations to defense industry expos hosted by each side, building defense cooperation relations with compliance with international law and practice, meeting each side’s needs and capabilities for the common interests of the two countries.
The Vietnamese GS leader also recommended sharing of information about each side’s capacity and strengths, and studying potential areas of cooperation, building a roadmap, and reporting to competent authorities of both sides.

Congratulating the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense on successfully organizing the Expo and the VPA on its 80th founding anniversary, the UAE general said that during his first visit to Vietnam this time and attendance in the Expo, he had many meetings with Vietnamese defense industry enterprises. These opened up new defense cooperation channels for the two sides. Attentively, Vietnamese defense industry products are good and high quality, promising for the two countries’ cooperation in the field.
He invited Gen. Tan and a delegation of the Vietnam People’s Army to attend the IDEX 2025, slated for next February, in UAE.
