Vietnamese instructors’ independent delivery of the course, recognized by the U.N. Integrated Training Service (ITS), has underscored the nation’s growing autonomy and professionalism in peacekeeping training.

ITS representative Lt. Col. Taha Chaoui affirmed that the Vietnam Department of Peacekeeping Operations (VNDPKO) met all U.N. standards with high proficiency, cementing Vietnam’s role as a reliable partner. These assessments pave the way for official U.N. certification of Vietnam’s UNSOC course, enabling the country to host future international training.

Major Douglas Thurber, representing Canada’s Department of Military Training and Cooperation (DMTC), praised the Vietnamese instructors' dedication and teamwork. He expressed pride in witnessing their first independent UNSOC delivery and commended VNDPKO’s commitment to high-quality, standardized peacekeeping training.

Colonel Luong Truong Vinh, Head of the Vietnamese Instructor Team at the VNDPKO, noted the course's demanding pace and rigorous staff exercises within simulated mission environments. Participants advanced from theoretical knowledge to practical application, analyzing situations, defending plans, and converting decisions into feasible orders, core competencies for U.N. staff officers.

The program included 41 officers from 12 countries, including Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines.
