The host affirmed that Vietnam and Singapore are dynamic, active members of ASEAN and share a relationship of trust and close cooperation. The upgrading of bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in March 2025 marked a historic milestone, opening a new chapter in the bilateral relations.
According to Gen. Giang, over the past time, on the basis of documents and agreements signed between the two defense ministries, the two sides have strengthened defense cooperation and achieved positive, comprehensive and substantive results. Notable areas include exchanges of delegations at all levels, defense policy dialogue and consultation mechanisms; training; and coordination and mutual support at multilateral forums.
He expressed his confidence that bilateral defense ties will continue to make new, stronger, more substantive and more effective progress.
He hoped that during his term of office, the Singaporean diplomat will continue to pay attention to and support efforts by the two defense ministries to enhance reliable, comprehensive, substantive and effective cooperation.

For his part, Ambassador Rajpal Singh expressed his admiration for the development history of the Vietnam People’s Army after visiting the Vietnam Military History Museum.
He voiced his hope that bilateral defense cooperation will continue to develop in line with the framework of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Singapore and Vietnam. He proposed studying and exploring new areas of cooperation suitable to both sides’ potential and needs. He expressed his wish that Gen. Giang will continue to pay close attention to and support bilateral defense cooperation.
