The hospital’s medical staff provided health check-ups, consultations, and medications to many inmates. They also assessed the prison’s medical infrastructure and made recommendations for improvements in hygiene, nutrition, and epidemic prevention.

Leader of Vietnam’s H2FH Rotation 6 presents gifts to Unity State Prison, South Sudan.

Apart from medical services, Vietnamese peacekeepers conducted a short training session for the prison’s healthcare personnel and correctional officers. The training focused on basic first aid, emergency medical response, infectious disease prevention, and environmental hygiene practices.

The charity program was highly appreciated by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and local authorities. Despite the rainy season and extremely difficult travel conditions due to flooded and muddy roads, the medical team made significant efforts, overcame the challenges and delivered much-needed healthcare support to both inmates and prison staff.

Through this mission, Vietnam’s L2FH Rotation 6 successfully fulfilled its core role as a leading medical unit in the area.

This effort not only demonstrated the sense of responsibility, professionalism, and humanitarian spirit of Vietnam’s U.N. peacekeeping force, but also contributed to strengthening relations and coordination with local authorities, spreading the image of a peaceful, compassionate, and community-oriented Vietnam ready to contribute to global efforts.
