The warehouse completed as scheduled |
Launched on June 23, 2025, the project was carried out during the harsh rainy season, which directly impacted several tasks and construction progress. Despite these difficulties, the Vietnamese engineers demonstrated determination, professionalism, and creativity to successfully complete the assignment on schedule.
The unit pro-actively applied effective technical solutions to ensure absolute safety and high-quality standards. Thanks to that, the warehouses were not only completed on time, but also exceeded expectations in both technical precision and design.
Alongside the warehouse construction, the unit successfully completed an urgent task of dismantling a camp in Kadugli before handing over duties to their successor This highlighted the unit’s readiness to take on and fulfill any assignment given by the Mission.

Officers and staff of the Engineering Company Rotation 3 about to dismantle the camp in Kadugli |
The dismantling of the Kadugli camp was part of UNISFA’s plan to reduce its presence and cut costs due to major security and logistical challenges. On August 18, 21 officers and staff members from the Engineering Company Rotation 3 were dispatched to Kadugli to dismantle modular housing units under extremely harsh conditions, with limited access to food, drinking water, basic amenities, and internet, while also facing a volatile security environment and poor road infrastructure.
Sharing about the difficulties during the warehouse construction, Senior Captain Bui Anh Dong, Construction Assistant, said that the rainy season was truly a nightmare. The warehouse structures were complex steel frameworks where even the smallest margin of error was unacceptable. At times, prolonged heavy rains nearly broke our morale, as they severely disrupted progress. But remembering the significance of the project and the spirit of teamwork, the unit’s members encouraged one another to innovate and seek solutions. “The feeling of completing a project that exceeded expectations before handing it over to the Engineering Company Rotation 4 is truly a source of pride,” said Dong.
Head of Engineering Sub-unit 1 Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Cong Duong, who directly commanded the dismantling operation in Kadugli, said that this was a highly sensitive area with serious security risks, but the Mission’s task could not be delayed. In such difficult conditions, each member reminded themselves to work faster and more effectively in order to complete the mission and return safely.

Troops racing against time to complete the mission |
The Engineering Company Rotation 3 has only a few days left before concluding its one-year deployment to UNISFA and handing over responsibilities to their successor. Their race against time to successfully complete a dual mission with high efficiency will remain a meaningful and proud memory for the officers and soldiers of the unit upon their return to Vietnam.
