At the conference, delegates focused discussion on a subproject to build a monument named “Vietnam-Laos Fighting Alliance and Unity” in Phu Hua Sang, Anouvong district, Xaisomboun province, which has been agreed by the two Parties and States of Vietnam and Laos.
The monument will be built on an area of 1,600 sq.m. in a site of 4,500 sq.m, and cost VND 12 billion.
According to delegates at the conference, the subproject is significant as it aims to feature the traditions of the Vietnam-Laos alliance in fighting common enemies, to memorize the great contribution of Vietnamese volunteer troops and experts and Lao troops and people to the national liberation and development cause of Laos, and in part to strengthen the special unity and friendship between Vietnam and Laos.
The subproject is expected to be wrapped up in 2017, in celebration of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 40th anniversary of the singing of the Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.
