PANO – General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of the National Defence, on January 28th received Japan’s Vice Defence Minister Tokuchi Hideshi participating in the third Vietnam-Japan Defence Policy Dialogue in Hanoi.

At the reception, General Thanh held that defence cooperation between the two countries has been expanded, contributing to the bilateral relations over the past time. He also asked the two sides to continue promoting the dialogue’s mechanism, conducting delegation exchanges at all levels, and stepping up cooperation on education and training, search and rescue missions, and natural disaster prevention.
For his part, the guest thanked the host for a warm welcome, and believed that the two countries’ ties would be deeper and more effective for their mutual benefits, peace, stability and prosperity in the region and the world.
