Major General Nguyen Quoc Huong, Deputy Commander of Military Region 5, hosted the reception for the Indian guests. Present at the reception were leaders and commanders from Military Region 5’s agencies, the Naval Region 3 Command, the Da Nang City Military Command, and representatives from the Department of Foreign Relations under the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense.

At the reception, Major General Nguyen Quoc Huong warmly welcomed the delegation and shared key information about the local situation and the activities of Military Region 5's armed forces in the  national construction and defense cause.

He emphasized that over the years, the Indian Navy has regularly sent ships for goodwill visits to localities within Military Region 5. Most recently, Indian Navy ships, including INS Delhi and INS Satpura, visited Da Nang city. These activities have contributed to strengthening friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding, and helped foster the Vietnam-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership established in 2016. Notably, both countries are preparing to celebrate the 10th anniversary of this partnership in 2026.

On behalf of the Indian delegation, Rear Admiral Susheel Menon expressed his sincere thanks for the warm welcome by the Military Region 5 Command, and conveyed his appreciation for the remarkable development achievements of Vietnam and the Vietnam People’s Army, including Military Region 5's armed forces. He praised the cultural identity and people of Vietnam, which are widely respected by other nations. He also expressed the desire for the relationship between the two sides to continue growing, with enhanced exchanges, mutual understanding, and favorable conditions for naval forces to expand cooperation, training, and experience sharing, thereby contributing to maritime freedom, security, and safety.

As part of the program, the Indian naval delegation held various exchange activities, paid courtesy visits on the Da Nang municipal authorities and Naval Region 3 Command, joined sightseeing tours, and conducted bilateral training after departing the port.
