Vietnam, Turkey to further boost defense cooperation

Appreciating the professionalism of the SSB in organizing this year’s IDEF, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that Vietnam attaches importance to international cooperation in defense industry. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government and Ministry of National Defense always facilitate exchanges and cooperation in the defense industry on the basis of equality, mutual benefit, and respect for Vietnamese laws and other international commitments.

Mr. Haluk Gorgun expressed his pleasure at receiving the Vietnamese defense delegation, affirmed that cooperation with Vietnam is a priority in Turkey’s Asia-focused policy, and highlighted that with the SSB’s status as an agency under the President of Turkey and its self-reliance capacity, Turkey is ready to cooperate with Vietnam in alignment with the political relationship and interests of both countries.

Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien thanked Mr. Gorgun for sending SSB representatives to participate in the Vietnam Defense Expo in both 2022 and 2024, and welcomed Turkish defense enterprises and facilities to continue showcasing their products at the next Vietnam International Defense Expo scheduled for late 2026. He highly appreciated the development of Turkey’s defense industry and proposed that the two sides continue promoting exchanges to explore cooperation opportunities in line with each side’s capabilities.

On this occasion, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien handed over a letter from Minister of National Defense of Vietnam General Phan Van Giang, inviting Mr. Haluk Gorgun to Vietnam in the coming time.
