PANO – The UN peacekeeping experts’ delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Korea (RoK), led by Prof. Jeong Jang Soo, is paying a nine-day visit to Vietnam.

The business trip aims to promote and exchange peacekeeping experience and knowledge while enhancing understanding, friendship, and cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting held in Hanoi on December 7th, Senior Colonel Hoang Kim Phung, Director of the Vietnam Peacekeeping Center, introduced to the guests the efforts of Vietnam since it joined the UN peacekeeping operations, stressing the dispatch of its officers to the two UN peacekeeping missions in the Central African Republic and South Sudan, training for the engineering company, the establishment of the level-two field hospital, and the construction of the center’s headquarters. The colonel hoped that the visit of the guests to Vietnam would bring valuable experience to the host.

Prof. Jeong Jang Soo confirmed that the RoK peacekeeping force is always willing to share its 22 years of experience in UN peacekeeping operations with Vietnam. The professor and experts promised that they would do their best to help the Peacekeeping Center of Vietnam develop, contributing to enhancing cooperation between the two countries and two armed forces.
