In addition, the bilateral defense cooperation over the past time has been maintained and developed, becoming an important pillar of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries with a focus on the border defense friendship exchange program. Accordingly, the two countries have jointly held this program five times and are preparing for the sixth edition, scheduled to take place early next year in Quang Ninh province (Vietnam) and Guangxi province (China) respectively.

General Nam also hailed the cooperation outcomes between the Vietnam Border Guard and the National Immigration Administration of China in border management and protection, immigration control, fighting all types of crime and preventing law violations, and in maintaining border security and order.

In the coming time, the two sides should boost cooperation to enforce the three legal documents on land border and border cooperation mechanisms at three levels. They are to enhance exchanges and information dissemination work while closely coordinating with local authorities in border areas to ensure political security and social safety and order in border areas.

For his part, General Zhao shared the same viewpoint with General Nam and informed his counterpart of the outcomes of his working visit with the Vietnam Border Guard Command.

The guest also expressed his hope to promote cooperation between the National Immigration Administration of China and the Vietnam Border Guard as well as other Vietnamese relevant forces to maintain stability, security, and order along the shared borderline.
