Sailing Vessel 286 - Le Quy Don begins visit to Brunei
PANO - On the morning of July 29 (local time), Sailing Vessel 286 - Le Quy Don from the Vietnam Naval Academy, along with the delegation of the Vietnam People's Navy led by Senior Captain Nguyen Dinh Giang, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Naval Academy, arrived at Muara port to begin their visit and exchange with the Royal Brunei Navy.
Commander Sharairil bin Hj Shahlan, Commanding Officer of the Supply Center under the Royal Brunei Navy, presided over the welcome ceremony. Attending the ceremony were Vietnamese Ambassador to Brunei Tran Thanh Vu and Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Huan, Vietnamese Defense Attaché in Brunei.

Commander Sharairil bin Hj Shahlan expressed his delight at welcoming Senior Captain Nguyen Dinh Giang and the delegation of Sailing Vessel 286 - Le Quy Don. He conveyed his belief that the visit would be a great success, contributing to strengthening cooperation between the Royal Brunei Navy and the Vietnam People's Navy.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception by the Royal Brunei Navy, Senior Captain Nguyen Dinh Giang emphasized the continuous development of cooperation between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Royal Brunei Navy in recent years. In December 2013, the naval commanders of both countries signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation, including the establishment of a hotline between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Royal Brunei Navy. Both sides have supported and assisted each other in regional events.

Senior Captain Nguyen Dinh Giang expressed his belief that, based on the good relationship, mutual understanding, and trust, the cooperation between the navies of the two countries will continue to grow, contributing to maintaining peace and stability in the region and the world.
During the over 1,000 nautical mile voyage from Surabaya (Indonesia) to Muara (Brunei), the delegation on Sailing Vessel 286 - Le Quy Don continued to hold long-distance sea training activities for final-year cadets (the 65th course) of the Vietnam Naval Academy.

The delegation also organized activities, such as birthday parties, chess competitions, cultural performances, and meetings with officers and cadets who are relatives of martyrs in commemoration of Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs' Day (July 27).
