On a spring morning, a team of border troops from My Ly Border Post conducted border patrol. As planned, the joint patrol covered the border section and border markers from 395 to 396.
According to Major Phan Duc Tam, Political Officer of My Ly Border Post, held that the unit is tasked with managing and protecting the 48.4km-long borderline, including 36.9km along the river and 11.5km on land. The area is home to over 10,000 people from four ethnic minority groups, including the Thai, H'mong, Kho Mu, and Kinh.
Local people is stationed in remote villages, with some areas still lacking access to electricity and mobile networks. Meanwhile, there remain criminal activities and law violations.

Understanding the local situation and characteristics, the unit has implemented measures to ensure security and order in the border area, particularly before, during, and after Tet.
It also raised local people’s awareness of laws. Prior to the lunar New Year 2025, My Ly Border Post worked with local authorities and public security forces to conduct and disseminate laws through various methods.
My Ly Border Post has also promoted the role of self-managed border patrol teams to grasp the situation.

The unit also deployed troops to celebrate Tet with residents in villages, thereby closely grasping the local situation and making recommendations to the unit’s commanders and local authorities on suitable policies and measures to address arising issues.
On the recent Tet holiday, My Ly Border Post worked with Border Guard Company 217 to conduct joint patrols, ensuring security along the borderline. Through the activities, the forces popularized laws about illegal border crossings to their local people.
Concluding the patrol, both units exchanged information and discussed measures to ensure security in the shared borderline. On this occasion, My Ly Border Post presented gifts and financial support of VND 5 million to Xong Ba Cong, a student from Huoi Pa hamlet, Muong Quan district, Huaphanh province (Laos), as part of the “Paving the way to school for children” program.
