At the reception, President Reuvlin Rivlin highly valued the visit and confirmed that the Israeli State and Government and he himself back the enhancement of Israeli defense ties with Vietnam.
Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh thanked the Israeli State leaders and the President for their support and for creating favorable conditions for the two Defense Ministries to realize cooperation deals in an effective and pragmatic manner on a par with the two countries’ fruitful relationship.

Earlier on the day, during the talk between Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh and the Director General of the Defense Ministry of Israel Udi Adam at the Headquarters of the Israeli Defense Ministry, the two sides exchanged viewpoints on international and regional issues of mutual concern and expressed pleasure over the development of the bilateral friendship and cooperation in different fields, including defense.
General Vinh emphasized that based on the flourishing ties between the two countries, Vietnam would like to straightforwardly discuss effective measures to boost comprehensive development of bilateral defense ties within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral defense cooperation inked in 2015 and in line with the Vietnamese Government’s policy of “Developing Vietnam's relations with countries in the Middle East and Africa in the 2016-2025 period”.
For his part, Director General of the Defense Ministry of Israel Udi Adam highly appreciated the role and status of Vietnam in the region, saying that Israel wants to join Vietnam in building a reliable, effective, and sustainable cooperative partnership.
At the talk, the two sides agreed that effective defense cooperation would contribute to deepening the two countries’ relationship, meeting the two peoples’ interests as well as to the joint efforts for peace, stability, cooperation and development.
At the end of the talk, the two sides signed the minutes of the visit and of the building of a consultation mechanism for the two Defense Ministries’ working groups.
During the visit, Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi Vinh and the Vietnamese delegation paid a courtesy call on Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, met with Israeli Acting National Security Advisor Jacob Nagel, and visited some defense units and firms in the country.
