Defense Minister hosts U.S. Senate delegation

Warmly welcoming the U.S. delegation to Vietnam, General Ngo Xuan Lich believed that the visit of the delegation would contribute to boosting the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and the U.S. He held that the defense bilateral cooperation has seen fine developments in a number of areas such as delegation exchange, personnel training, sharing of experience in joining UN peacekeeping operations, war consequence relief, and more.

The Vietnamese general highly appreciated the contribution of Senator Patrick Leahy to the bilateral cooperation in overcoming war legacies, stressing the success in the dioxin-decontamination project at Da Nang Airport. He hoped that Senator Patrick Leahy would further contribute to the similar project at Bien Hoa Airport.

For his part, Senator Patrick Leahy emphasized that the visit of the U.S. delegation this time would contribute to the development of the bilateral relations between Vietnam and the U.S. Congratulating the two sides on the success of the dioxin-decontamination project at Da Nang Airport, the U.S. senator affirmed that he would make efforts to help the project at Bien Hoa Airport be carried out successfully, laying the foundation for the two side to enhance mutual trust and expand cooperation in other areas.
