Defense minister hosts RoK Ambassador
PANO - Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister Sen. Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang hosted a reception for the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) to Vietnam Park Noh-wan in Hanoi on June 1.

At the reception, General Giang spoke highly of the RoK ambassador’s contributions to accelerating the relationship between Vietnam and the RoK in various fields including defense cooperation.
He thanked the RoK government, enterprises, and individuals for assisting the Vietnamese people in the COVID-19 fight. The host highlighted the new developments in bilateral defense ties since the signing of the Joint Vision Statement on Defense Cooperation through 2030, with the formation of new cooperation mechanisms.
For his part, Ambassador Noh-wan congratulated General Giang on his appointment as Vietnamese Defense Minister and believed that in his new post, General Giang will make practical and effective contributions to lifting the bilateral cooperation as well as the relations between the two militaries in a sustainable manner.
The two sides agreed to further boost defense ties in the time to come, especially in delegation exchanges, building bilateral cooperation mechanisms, holding exchanges at all levels, personnel training, maritime and cyber security cooperation, addressing consequences of war-left bombs and mines, and defense industry cooperation.
