Chinese MND to provide 200,000 vaccine doses for Vietnamese military
PANO - As many as 200,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine will arrive in Vietnam to help the Vietnamese military effectively fight the COVID-19 pandemic, as a support from the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Ministry of National Defense (MND) of China.

The information was included in a letter written by Chinese Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Wei Fenghe to the Vietnamese MND, which was conveyed by Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam Xiong Bo at a reception on August 17.
At the reception for the Chinese diplomat at the Vietnamese MND headquarters, Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien thanked the Chinese CMC and MND for their thoughtfulness and timely assistance.
The Vietnamese general highlighted the effective continuation and fine development of the cooperation between the two countries in general and the two militaries in particular despite the impacts of the COVID-19. He stressed the good implementation of the common perceptions of the two Parties’ and States’ senior leaders and other plans set for this year.
General Chien spoke highly of the vaccine support, saying that it shows the solidarity and mutual support between the two militaries, and confirms that the relations between the two militaries are an important pillar in the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
For his part, the Chinese ambassador said that China always shares difficulties with Vietnam in COVID-19 prevention and control work and is willing to continue to cooperate with Vietnam in providing medical supplies, vaccines, and transferring vaccine production technology in the time to come.
Also at the meeting, the host and guest exchanged regional and global issues of common concern and agreed on a number of orientations to reinforce bilateral defense ties in the near future.
