Banquet marks VPA’s 79th founding anniversary

The event was chaired by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien and attended by Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, leaders of agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense, foreign defense and military attachés, chargé d'affaires, and service attachés in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, General Chien affirmed that in the course of the history of 79-year construction, combat, and development, the VPA has made great contribution to the national liberation and defense cause and successfully completed noble international duties. The VPA has exerted utmost efforts with other countries' militaries to build a peaceful and prosperous world.

Until now, the MND and VPA have set up cooperative relationship with defense ministries and militaries of more than 100 countries around the world, and defense diplomacy truly becomes one of the important pillars of Party diplomacy, State diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy.

General Chien thanked and wished that foreign defense and military attachés, chargé d'affaires, and service attachés in Vietnam will continue to promote their special role as a bridge to foster defense cooperation between their militaries with Vietnam in a more intensive and substantial manner. He reaffirmed that Vietnam and its people love peace, stability, prosperity, and the VPA is a faithful friend, active and reliable partner, and responsible member of international community.

On behalf of foreign delegates, Thai Air Force Attaché Colonel Prin Yongpiyanon highly appreciated the position and role of Vietnam in the region and the new development of the VPA. He pledged to strive to further strengthen cooperation with the VPA and thanked the Vietnamese MND, agencies, and units for supporting him in carrying out his duties in Vietnam.
