At the opening ceremony of the Army Games 2022 and Army-2022 |
This year event drew the participation of 264 teams from 34 nations to compete in 34 events. Its competitions take place in 12 countries, namely Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Iran, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, and Vietnam. It will last till August 27.
This was the first time that the Army Games is held in Venezuela, a Latin American nation. The games also witness two new participating countries: Bolivia and Rwanda.
At the Army Games 2022, apart from hosting the “Emergency Area” event, the Vietnam People’s Army has sent teams to compete in other events, namely “Tank Biathlon,” “Army of Culture,” “Military Medical Relay Race,” “Special Sprint” (in Russia), “Safe Environment,” “Field Kitchen” (in Uzbekistan), “Confident Reception” (in Belarus), and “Tactical Shooter” and “Meridian” (in Kazakhstan).

Twelve Vietnamese military cadets, who are studying in Russia, represent the Vietnam People’s Army to take part in the “Special Sprint” event.
In addition, the International Military-Technical Forum - “Army-2022” was also launched at the ceremony. The forum draws the participation of 1,500 Russian defense industry enterprises with 1,000 weapons and military equipment.
Taking place from August 15 to 21, the forum will feature numerous activities, including exhibition of advanced products of the Russian defense industry, reality performance of weapons and technical equipment, scientific seminars, and so on.
