The Office of the Central Steering Committee for anti-corruption, the Government Inspectorate, the Ministry of Planning and Investment in coordination with the Swedish Embassy, organised a dialogue themed “Preventing and combating corruption in capital construction investment” on May 29 in Hanoi.

 

Together with important ongoing measures to combat corruption, the Government on May 12 promulgated an addition resolution on its national strategy against corruption through 2020 and is preparing to ratify the United Nation’s Convention on anti-corruption measures.

In the field of capital construction investment, which is particularly vulnerable to corruption. Vietnam has adopted measures such as the Law on Construction and the Law on Housing. But, the effectiveness of management and the efficiency of the use of capital in the construction field is still problematic, resulting in waste and slow infrastructure development.
