Present at the awarding ceremony were General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense; Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, and Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army; Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff; Major General Le Hien Van, GDP’s Deputy Director and the President of the Military Creative Youth Awards Council; among others.

This year’s movement attracted the participation of 741 groups and individuals from 33 units under the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense with 405 projects and initiatives. Many projects and initiatives have been effectively applied in training, combat readiness, production, education, healthcare for troops and people, and environmental protection.

Addressing the event, General Ngo Xuan Lich congratulated the honored on their outstanding achievements and highly appreciated contributions of the GDP, the award council, and relevant agencies to the development of the scientific and technical research movement in the whole army.

He stressed that realizing the Party's guidelines on science and technology, the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense have instructed military units and agencies to promote military scientific and technical research, considering it a core political mission to directly serve military and defense activities, the army-building cause, and national protection missions.

Over the past years, defense agencies, military units and troops have demonstrated a high sense of responsibility and active participation in the movement. They also showed their passion, enthusiasm, responsibility, and aspiration to obtain pinnacle achievements in military scientific and technical research.

To further strengthen the movement in the coming time, the Defense Minister asked units' leaders to promote their leadership role, pay due attention to information and education work, create favorable conditions for troops to bring into full play their creativity and talent, multiply research projects with high quality and feasibility, and honor outstanding groups and individuals on time.

Meanwhile, the GDP and award council should promote their advisory role and boost the scientific and technical research movement among military units and agencies.

He requested the honored to promote their achievements, continue applying their projects and initiatives to the reality, share experiences and encourage others to do scientific and technical research, making contribution to spreading the movement.

At the event, the Defense Minister granted certificates of merits to 18 units with remarkable achievements in carrying out the work. The GDP’s Director presented 17 first, 41 second, 60 third and 91 consolidation prizes to projects and initiatives.
