At the event, N.A. deputies informed the troops about the outcomes of the 15th N.A.’s 9th session, highlighting 34 adopted laws and 14 resolutions, including the Law on Participation in U.N. Peacekeeping Operations.

Military voters expressed their delight and consensus on the session’s accomplishments and made some proposals related to the impacts of the rearrangement of administrative units.

On behalf of the delegation, Gen. Giang said that issues under authority of the delegation and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) would be collected and reported to functional agencies of Thai Nguyen province and the N.A. as well as those under the Central Military Commission and the MND to deal with in alignment with realities.

The defense chief also briefed them upon domestic, regional and global situations, especially the country’s political, socio-economic achievements in the first half of this year, and the drastic and synchronous reorganization of the government apparatus.

He laid stress on the good performance of the military and defense tasks of the military in the first six months of this years. Highlights included strict observance of combat readiness regulations, effective situational assessments, timely recommendations to the Party and the State, and effective resolve of contingencies, contributing to firmly safeguarding national sovereignty and territory.

The defense minister underlined the strict implementation of the rearrangement of local military units in an elite, compact and strong manner, meeting task requirements in the new situation. He highly praised the military’s pro-active response to non-traditional security challenges, natural disasters, helping shine good images and qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers; flexible and practical performance of international integration and defense diplomacy activities, thus raising the country and military’s status and reputation; and the efforts to build and repair 17,027 houses nationwide.

Regarding Division 312’s task implementation in the first half, Gen. Giang gave commendations to its officers and soldiers. He asked them and their comrades from other units stationed in Thai Nguyen provinces to continue keeping a close watch on situational developments, overcome difficulties, and excellently complete missions for the remaining time of the year and beyond. He urged them to emulate to gain practical attainments to celebrate the Party Congress of Army Corps 12 and the 12th Military Party Congress.

On the occasion, Gen. Giang presented gifts from the Central Military Commission and the MND to Division 312’s collectives and individuals who are wounded soldiers, martyrs’ children and those who face hard living conditions.
