Military units respond to Storm No.2 and heavy rains
PANO - The Department of Search and Rescue under the General Staff issued Dispatch No.2273 on July 5 to Military Region 3, Military Region 4, the Naval Service, the Air Defense - Air Force Service, the Vietnam Border Guard Command, the Vietnam Coast Guard Command and Corps 18 on response measures for Storm No.2 and heavy rains.
To pro-actively respond to the storm's developments, which may bring strong winds, heavy rain, and high waves at sea, the Department of Search and Rescue requested units to continue thoroughly implementing dispatches from the General Staff and the department on response measures for storm, rain, and flood. The units should strictly maintain readiness duties, regularly update storm developments, and develop plans to ensure safety of personnel and equipment during operations.

The Vietnam Border Guard Command should direct the border guard force in coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Hue city to closely follow the storm’s developments; coordinate with local authorities and functional agencies to promptly notify vessel owners and captains operating at sea about the storm’s location, direction, and development so that they could avoid dangerous areas or seek shelters in a timely manner.
